That Last Moment..

The waves were cold beneath my feet
The sand got stuck in my toes
As soon as the water rushed towards me
I tried to spread my hands trying to take in all that moment had to offer
I wasn’t willing to say my goodbye yet, wanted to stay a little longer..

I haven’t had my share of happiness yet
I haven’t cried away all my pain
I haven’t told the people I love their value
There still is some unfinished business

Want to linger here some more
Want to embrace the feeling of love
Want to know how it feels like to talk and be listened to
Want to relearn the feeling of a touch

Just give me one more moment here
Oh please! For I beg you to
But my time on earth had already ended
And this is my very last moment too

One final look at the skies
One final rush of memories
One final gasp for breath
And one final time my eyes blinked

For then they closed forever
Never to be opened again
My body succumbed to nature’s will
As the final wave took my body somewhere far away…
