One last time

With every step forward in the sand
My feet got dug only deeper
I wanted to cover more distance
But my knees only got weaker

The effort was drawing strength out of me pinch by pinch
Every piece of my energy was being sucked out
Yet I walked with all my determination
Even though I knew, soon I would black out
