A Language I Didn't Know

I shouted and said hello
In a language they did not know
Nobody turned, no one replied
I shall try to make the best of itThe fact that i am a tourist, an observer
An outsider to this world where my language need not be guided.

An abuse ignored, apologies easy to make
Explanations only a matter of who gives up first
Anger with the subtitles of actions
Like learning a new language knowing the translations first.

It was all good when i could say crappy things only with a smile on my face
I could call a thing expensive and walk out looking like it was beneath my taste
Oh i was turning into a fine actor, better than any i know i presumed
But it wasn't hard to fake any of these

What was really difficult was to dissipate a misunderstanding that i wanted dissolved
To tell someone how i felt
Or even worse when i wanted to say goodbye to someone i didn't want to let go
Not because i didn't know how to say it in the new language but i didn't even know the translation of such a thing in mine.
